Just Announced: Introduction to Game Development
By Noel Llopis

If you look back at the at the activity in this site between June and October of this year, you may have noticed a distinct slow down. As it turns out, I was quite busy with a project that was being kept under wraps. But now, the cat is finally out of the bag.
I wrote five chapters in the programming and architecture section for the new book Introduction to Game Development, published by Charles River Media, and edited by Steve Rabin. The book is intended to be a textbook used in game development college courses and will be out in April of this year.
The specific chapters I wrote are in the "Game Programming" section and are titled "Teams and Processes", "Programming Languages", "Programming Fundamentals", "Game Architecture", and "Memory and I/O Systems".
If you're curious about what it takes to write a book, this picture that Steve sent out might give you an idea of the magnitude of the work involved. That's the final, printed manuscript ready to be mailed to the publisher (in game terms, you could say it's the "gold" master).
